RITA PARSONS/DESIGNER/FARMER
I have always loved being creative. I started my life's journey, in Eugene, Oregon where I grew up, got married and raised five children.
My creativity was further developed by attending and graduating from Oregon State University, with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. Once out of college, I became a Retail Manager for AAFES and Eddie Bauer. Those long hours, weekend and holiday work weren't my cup of tea, so I pursued selling insurance, which I had done for the past 17 years.
Seems I have come full circle and after living in Monterey for 14 years, I now have this 16 acre scenic piece of land, above the Klamath River, where life is slower and much more rewarding, on a daily basis. My life on the river began with living in a yurt, for 16 months. That didn't heat real well, so I had to add a travel trailer to this property. Oh yes, in the midst of the time in and out of Monterey, I did purchase a home in Mt.Shasta, which, as of 2010, will be put on the market to sell. Eventually I hope to add photos of a permanent living structure and the yurt will then be a lodging place for people to come and enjoy the serenity that I have every day.
